Ceteareth - Petroleum chemical from gasoline production, restricted in cosmetics, not safe on damaged skin, but used in children's creams for dry skin; studies show skin irritant, and enhances penetration of chemicals past skin and into blood stream; prone to contamination with cancer-causing impurities from production.

Phenoxyethanol - Chemical linked in studies to cancer, hormone disruption and developmental toxicity; banned in cosmetics in Japan; Material Safety Data Sheet says that "very hazardous in case of skin contact (irritant), of ingestion, of inhalation," and that "substance is toxic to kidneys, the nervous sytem and liver."

Polyaminopropyl Biguanide - Chemical restricted in cosmetics in Japan; not assessed for safety in cosmetics in US.

Disodium EDTA - Chemical linked in studies to cancer, reproductive problems, and enhanced penetration of chemicals past skin and into bloodstream.  

Methylparaben or Propylparaben - Chemicals linked to hormone disruption, studies find inside of breast tumors.

Petrolatum, or Mineral Oil - Petroleum products from gasoline production, linked to cancer, skin irritations, prone to contamination with cancer-causing by-products during manufacturing; petrolatum is banned in European Union as probable carcinogen.

Dimethicone - Chemical, otherwise essentially known as Silicone; may accumulate in the body; non-biodegradable; may inhibit respiration of the skin, while trapping toxins.

Fragrance - Term used to conceal thousands of dangerous chemicals, including pthalates, as tradesecrets.
