- Tests conducted by environmental groups found that a majority of baby soaps on the market were contaminated with known carcinogens. Indeed, most baby products are made from petroleum leftover from gasoline production, and become contaminated with carcinogens during this less-than-cleanly manufacturing process. We think these sorts of chemicals should never come in contact with a baby's delicate skin (particularly since a baby's skin is many times thinner than an adults, and therefore permits even more chemicals to absorb through it, and enter the bloodstream (where they circulate and store themselves in organs and tissue).
